Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 02/02/26

1. Introduction

Welcome to BarbellMedia! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the BarbellMedia website and your purchase or use of our digital fitness content, including one-time digital workout programs and subscription-based fitness programs. BarbellMedia ("we", "us", or "our") is a UK-based digital fitness content provider. By accessing our site or purchasing any digital content from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services. These Terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK law.

2. The Nature of Our Services

Digital Products Only: BarbellMedia offers digital-only products and services. We do not sell or ship any physical goods. Our offerings include:

  • One-Time Digital Workout Programs: Individual fitness programs (such as e-books, PDFs, videos, or online courses) available for one-time purchase and download/access.

  • Subscription-Based Program Access: Ongoing access to specific workout programs that provide recurring content, updates, and professional support (for example, regular workout updates, coaching check-ins, or guidance from personal trainers). Each subscription is tied to a particular program or series, not an all-access membership to our entire site.

All content is delivered electronically, either through online access or digital download. There are no physical deliveries or shipments, and therefore no shipping fees or delivery timeframes. Upon purchase, you will receive the digital product via an emailed download link or instant access through your account/dashboard.

3. Accounts and Access

Optional Account Creation: You are not required to create a user account to make a purchase on BarbellMedia, but we encourage you to do so for the best experience. With an account, you can easily access your purchased programs, track your subscriptions, and receive updates. If you choose to checkout as a guest, you must provide a valid email address so we can deliver your digital content to you.

  • Account Security: If you register an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for any activity that occurs under your account. Please use a strong password and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

  • Accurate Information: Whether purchasing as a guest or with an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information (such as your email address) so that we can process your order and contact you if necessary.

4. Orders and Payment

When you place an order for a digital program or subscription on our website, you are making an offer to purchase that content. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our discretion (for example, due to technical errors or payment issues). A contract between you and BarbellMedia is formed once we confirm your payment and provide access to the digital content.

Pricing: All prices on our website are listed in GBP (£) and include any applicable VAT or taxes. Since our products are digital, no shipping charges will apply. The total price (and, if you are purchasing a subscription, the recurring price and billing period) will be shown at checkout before you finalize your order.

Payment: We accept various payment methods (e.g. credit/debit cards or online payment services) as indicated at checkout. By submitting payment details, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method and you authorize us (or our third-party payment processor) to charge the full amount of your purchase to that payment method. If your payment cannot be completed (e.g. due to insufficient funds or payment provider refusal), the order will not be fulfilled.

Confirmation: After a successful purchase, we will provide an on-screen confirmation and/or send you an email receipt confirming your order details. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please check your spam folder or contact us to ensure your order was processed.

5. Delivery of Digital Content

All purchases from BarbellMedia are delivered electronically. Upon successful payment:

  • One-Time Purchases: You will be provided with a link to download your digital workout program or given immediate access through your account. We will also send a confirmation email with the download link or access instructions. Delivery is essentially instantaneous once payment is confirmed (subject to internet connectivity).

  • Subscriptions: Your subscription content will be accessible online through your account (or via links we provide). Initial content is available as soon as the subscription is activated, and recurring content (such as new workouts, tips, or coaching communications) will be delivered on the schedule described for that program (e.g. weekly workout updates or monthly coaching sessions). We will typically notify you (e.g. by email or account notifications) when new content or updates are available as part of your subscription.

No Physical Delivery: Because our products are digital, there is no physical product to ship. You will not receive any tangible goods, and thus no parcels, shipping tracking, or physical delivery timeline is applicable. All content is accessed via electronic means only.

Technical Requirements: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary hardware, software, and internet connectivity to download and use the digital content. For example, you may need a PDF reader, video player, or specific apps to view the workout materials. We are not responsible if you are unable to access content due to lack of compatible technology on your end. If you encounter any technical issues with accessing your content, please contact us for support.

6. Subscription Terms

When you purchase a subscription to a BarbellMedia program, the following terms apply:

  • Program-Specific Access: Your subscription grants you access only to the specific digital program or service you subscribed to, including its associated content and support. A subscription does not grant access to all content on our site—only the particular program’s materials and any new content or coaching associated with that program.

  • Recurring Billing: Subscriptions renew automatically on their billing cycle (e.g. monthly or annually, as stated at the time of purchase). This means you will be charged automatically on the next due date unless you cancel beforehand. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us to charge your originally provided payment method for each renewal until you cancel.

  • Cancellation of Subscription: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will stop future auto-renewal charges, and you will continue to have access to the subscribed program until the end of the current paid period. To cancel, you can log in to your account settings and follow the cancellation instructions, or contact our customer support for assistance. No pro-rated refunds are given for the remainder of a billing period when you cancel; you simply will not be billed again after the current period ends. For example, if you cancel a monthly subscription halfway through the month, you will retain access until the end of that month, but you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of the month.

  • Subscription Changes: We reserve the right to change the price or content of subscription services. However, any pricing changes will not affect your current subscription period. If prices are adjusted for the next renewal, we will provide advance notice via email or site notification, allowing you to cancel before the new rate takes effect. If you do not cancel, the subscription will renew at the new price.

  • Failed Payments: If a subscription renewal payment fails (for example, due to an expired card or insufficient funds), we will notify you and may attempt to reprocess the payment. If payment is not completed within a reasonable time, we may suspend or terminate your access to the subscription content. It is your responsibility to keep your payment details up to date to avoid interruption of service.

7. Cancellation, Refunds and Your Consumer Rights

No “Cooling-Off” Cancellation for Digital Content: Under UK law (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013), consumers usually have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase made online. However, this right does not apply once digital content has been provided with your consent. By purchasing digital content from BarbellMedia, you expressly consent to us providing the content to you immediately and acknowledge that you will lose your 14-day statutory cancellation right once the download or streaming of the digital content begins. If you do not agree to waive the cooling-off period, please refrain from completing a purchase, as we cannot deliver digital content to you until the 14-day period has elapsed (which would defeat the purpose of instant access).

All Sales are Final: In line with the above, we do not offer returns, exchanges or refunds for digital products once access has been granted or content has been downloaded. All digital purchases are final. This policy is necessary because of the intangible and irrevocable nature of digital goods (once you have access to the content, it cannot be returned). Subscription fees already paid are likewise non-refundable, except as described below. If you cancel a subscription, the cancellation will apply to future charges and not retroactively to payments already made.

Exceptional Circumstances – Defective Content: We are committed to delivering high-quality digital fitness content. If you experience a problem with the digital product (for example, a file is corrupted, the download link doesn’t work, or the content is materially not as described), please contact us as soon as possible. In such cases, we will work with you to fix the issue – for instance, by providing a working download link or correcting the content. If a digital product you purchased is faulty or not as described and cannot be repaired or replaced within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This is in accordance with your statutory rights, which these Terms do not exclude. We may request evidence of the defect or issue (such as screenshots or error messages) to help us diagnose and resolve the problem.

How to Request Support or Refund (if applicable): If you believe you are entitled to a refund due to a defective digital product as outlined above, please contact us at the email provided in the Contact section below. We will assess the situation and, if your case meets the legal requirements for a refund, process it within a reasonable timeframe. Refunds, if issued, will be made to the original payment method. Please note that aside from defective content or our error, change-of-mind refunds are not provided.

8. License and Intellectual Property

All content provided through BarbellMedia, including but not limited to text, images, videos, audio, workouts, and program materials, is the intellectual property of BarbellMedia or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. When you purchase or subscribe to our digital content, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use that content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Restrictions - You must not do any of the following:

  • No Resale or Sharing: Do not copy, distribute, share, publish, or resell our digital content to anyone else. This includes not uploading our materials to file-sharing sites or forums. The license is only for your personal use.

  • No Modifications or Derivatives: Do not modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works based on our content, except to the extent such actions are expressly permitted by us or by law.

  • No Commercial Use: Do not use our programs or materials for any commercial purpose or for training others for a fee. (For example, you cannot purchase our workout program and then use it as part of a class or personal training service you provide, without explicit permission.)

  • Intellectual Property Notices: Do not remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, watermark, or other proprietary notices affixed to our content. If the digital content contains our brand logos or attributions, those should remain intact.

Your purchase or subscription does not transfer any ownership rights to you. We retain all right, title, and interest in and to the content. Any unauthorized use of the digital content or our intellectual property may result in termination of your access and legal action. We reserve the right to disable or suspend accounts suspected of unauthorized sharing or infringement of our intellectual property rights.

9. User Conduct and Acceptable Use

When accessing our website or using our digital content and services, you agree to conduct yourself lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Abuse the Site: Do not attempt to hack, introduce malicious code, or otherwise compromise the security or functionality of the BarbellMedia website.

  • Fraud or Misrepresentation: Do not misrepresent your identity or payment information, and do not attempt to fraudulently obtain content without payment.

  • Harassment: Do not use any community features (if available) or communication channels with coaches/trainers to harass, threaten, or harm others. All interactions with our staff and any associated fitness professionals should remain professional and respectful.

  • Unauthorized Access: Do not attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you. This includes not sharing your own account credentials with others – our services are licensed per user.

  • Compliance with Laws: You agree to use our site and content only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (including intellectual property laws and health/fitness regulations).

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to our services if you violate any of the above or any other provisions of these Terms.

10. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Consult a Professional: BarbellMedia’s content is provided for general fitness information and educational purposes. We are not medical professionals, and our workouts and coaching should not be taken as medical advice. Before starting any new exercise program or diet regime, it is recommended that you consult with a doctor or qualified healthcare provider, especially if you have any underlying health conditions, are pregnant, or have not exercised recently.

Personal Responsibility: By using our workout programs or following our fitness advice, you acknowledge that you do so voluntarily and entirely at your own risk. You know your own health and physical limitations; you should exercise at a level that is appropriate for you. If at any time you feel pain, dizziness, or significant discomfort, stop immediately and seek medical attention if necessary.

No Guarantees of Results: Every individual’s body and capabilities are different. We do not guarantee specific results (such as particular fitness outcomes, weight loss, muscle gain, etc.) from using our programs. Results depend on many factors outside our control, including individual effort, adherence, diet, and genetic factors.

Limitation of Liability for Injury: To the fullest extent permitted by law, BarbellMedia will not be liable for any injury, illness, or adverse effects that may result directly or indirectly from the use of our fitness content. By engaging in the exercises in our programs, you assume all associated risks. Nothing in these Terms, however, seeks to limit or exclude our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence (see Section 11 on Limitation of Liability).

11. Limitation of Liability

Use at Your Own Risk: While we strive to provide high-quality, safe, and effective content, BarbellMedia’s digital products and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations (express or implied) about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of our content for your particular needs. We do not promise that the website or content will be available uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular results will be achieved.

Exclusion of Certain Losses: To the fullest extent allowed by law, we hereby expressly exclude liability for any indirect, consequential, or special losses or damages that you may suffer in connection with using our site or digital content. This includes, for example, loss of opportunity, loss of revenue or income, loss of data, or damage to equipment, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) our content or website. We are also not responsible for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms if such delay or failure arises from any cause beyond our reasonable control (e.g. internet outages, cyber-attacks, force majeure events, etc.).

Liability Cap: Except for the types of liabilities that cannot be limited by law (described below), any liability we owe you is limited to the amount you paid (if any) for the product or service that gave rise to the claim. For instance, if you purchased a single program from us and believe it caused you loss, our maximum liability would be no more than the purchase price of that program.

No Limit on Legal Rights: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of your consumer rights regarding the ownership of goods or digital content (we guarantee we have the right to supply the content to you); or (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. Your statutory rights as a consumer – such as rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that ensure digital content is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described – are not excluded or limited by these Terms, except to the extent legally possible.

If you are a consumer, the law gives you certain protections and our intention is to comply with all such laws, not to circumvent them. In the event any portion of this Section is found unenforceable under governing law, it shall be adjusted only to the minimum extent necessary to comply with the law.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is very important to us. Any personal information you provide to BarbellMedia (for example, when placing an order or creating an account) will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

UK GDPR Compliance: We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 in how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. We only collect data that is necessary to provide our services (such as your name, email address, and payment details) and to improve your experience. We use this data for purposes like processing your orders, providing access to content, sending you service-related communications, and (if you have opted in) marketing messages. For details on our data practices, please refer to our Privacy Policy (available on our website).

By using our site or services, you acknowledge that we will process your personal information in order to fulfill our contractual obligations to you (e.g. to deliver the digital content you purchased) and for legitimate business interests (such as preventing fraud, maintaining security, and improving our offerings). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data. However, no system can be 100% secure, so please understand that any transmission of data is at your own risk. If we become aware of any data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

If you have questions about how we handle personal data or wish to exercise any rights you have under privacy laws (such as accessing or deleting your data), please contact us as described in the Contact section. For further information, see our full Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "last updated" date at the top (if applicable). In case of significant changes that affect your rights or obligations, we may also provide additional notice (e.g. via email or a notice on our homepage).

Continued Use Equals Acceptance: Continued use of the BarbellMedia website or continued access to your purchased content or subscriptions after any modifications to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the site and (if applicable) cancel any subscriptions, subject to the cancellation terms above. We recommend you review these Terms periodically to stay informed about our policies.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By using our services, you agree that any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer residing in a part of the United Kingdom outside England and Wales (e.g. Scotland or Northern Ireland), you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. These Terms are intended to comply with all applicable UK consumer protection laws. In the event of any ambiguity in these Terms, they shall be interpreted in a manner most consistent with those laws.
